Test lab, SIEMIC, reports that in January 2016, Industry Canada (IC) published the new 6th edition of IC Interference-Causing Equipment Standard ICES-003, Issue 3, with the helpful title “Information Technology Equipment (Including Digital Apparatus) – Limits and Methods of Measurement”.
This ICES standard is the primary document that defines the test methods and frequency limits that must be complied with, for ITE equipment with radio communications devices, as classified under ICS Code 33.060.
This standard was officially adopted and given force under law in January, but interested stakeholders can still submit comments and feedback to Industry Canada until April 19th, 2016. The main purpose of these new requirements is to protect the information and data networks within Canada.
