Researchers in China have developed a “DC invisibility cloak” to hide electrical and magnetic signals that are generated by direct current. The new invisibility cloak has the potential to disguise infrared and magnetic signatures given off by military weapons, aircraft and ground vehicles.
Comprised of a network of resistors that assist in “bending” the electromagnetic waves, the cloak is designed to simulate the placement of the waves as if the object concealed by the cloak does not exist. The cloak does not affect visible light and is only mono-directional.
