Early in 2016, AaroniaAG (Germany-based manufacturer for AaroniaUSA) launched the new SPECTRAN V5 RF Spectrum Analyzer series, accompanied by the World’s Fastest Real Time Spectrum Analyzer Software Suite, the RTSA Suite. As the newest (and by far most impressive) addition to the Aaronia product line matures, many software updates and bug fixes have taken place to ensure that the RTSA Suite stands up to its prestigious “Fastest and Best” title.
A few compatibility enhancements have been made, most noteworthy the availability of the Aaronia RTSA Suite for Linux. Additionally, the RTSA Suite PRO now offers IQ Data File Import functionality (for example, Rohde & Schwartz “.wv” IQ Files), for improved compatibility with other test and measurement equipment outside of the SPECTRAN V5 product line. The RTSA Suite Profile Database is also updated regularly, with hundreds of new data entries cataloged by frequency range.
Concern with CPU load and massive data files can also be set aside. Extensive testing on a Dell Venue 11 Pro Tablet (with Atom Processor and USB 2.0) yielded perfect RTSA Suite PRO functionality even at full 175 MHz RTBW*. The recorded CPU load was less than 25%, even with multiple views, offering 56 fps and continuous 24/7 streaming to the internal SSD drive. The updated Dynamic Compression Zoom feature allows users to quickly and easily handle even the largest logged data files, with zoom capability allowing precise measurements of single samples in time and frequency domain.
Additionally, users running older firmware will find a huge speed increase – up to 400% faster – with a simple firmware update improving speed and time domain resolution, as well as 8µS 24/7 Streaming Resolution.
The handheld models are seeing an upgrade as well, with new Locking Frames accessories available, for easy carabiner belt mounting – a very handy feature for hands free applications (climbing towers, carrying other equipment, etc.).
To take advantage of these great updates, current users can find a step-by-step firmware upgrade tutorial on the AaroniaUSA blog.
