DfR Solutions, a world-wide leader in electronic technologies, has added IPC Footprint Patters to its Sherlock Automated Design Analysis software. This software scores and evaluates products, and by adding IPC Footprint Patterns to the software, hopefully precision and quickness of importing data and completing this process will increase.
Researchers theorized that “previously, Sherlock only used JEDEC standard descriptions (JEDEC JESD30E, Descriptive Designation System for Semiconductor-device Packages) for automatically determining package type at time of data import. Now Sherlock users have access to both standards. Incorporating the IPC standards into the Sherlock software increases the speed and accuracy of data import and reduces the time spent verifying package types during model creation.”
This software will only advance further as time goes by and one can only hope it will improve precision and speed for customers importing data.
