Interek, the international test, evaluation, and consulting firm, has announced a donation in excess of one million RNB (renminbi or people’s money) to support relief efforts for the earthquake victims in Sichuan, China. The monies will be split between UNICEF, the Red Cross, and the Red Crescent. Intertek is matching donations of its employees in more than 110 countries where it operates. Intertek’s operations in China were not directly affected by the quake, but employees in China have contributed generously and swiftly to the company’s global appeal. Intertek set up its first facility in China in 1989 and has laboratories and offices in 20 cities across China.
