EC 62037-3 is part of the IEC 62037 series and defines the impact test on coaxial connectors. An impact test is used to evaluate a coaxial connector’s robustness against weak connections and particles inside the connector as independently as possible from the effects of cable PIM (passive intermodulation). IEC 62037-4 defines test fixtures and procedures recommended for measuring levels of passive intermodulation generated by coaxial cables. Two dynamic test methods and a static test method are defined.
