Researchers at Stanford University have devised a “high efficiency charging system for electrical vehicles that uses magnetic fields to wirelessly transmit large electrical currents between metal coils placed several feet apart.” The research aims to produce a completely electrical highway that charges cars and trucks as they’re driving. If successful, researchers believe the “new technology has the potential to dramatically increase the driving range of electric vehicles.”
