A former General Motors electrical engineer who tested the influence of electromagnetic interference on cars and current science teacher at a Michigan high school was recently chosen from hundreds of applications nationwide to participate as a Maitland P. Simmons-NSTA Fellow in the 2010 NSTA New Science Teacher Academy. Claudia Sparschu will participate with 47 other science teachers from across the country in a yearlong professional development program designed to help promote quality science teaching.
