Chomerics Europe, a division of Parker Hannifin, introduced a low-closure-force EMI gasket suitable for applications in the automotive, military, medical and telecommunications sectors. Rated for use in temperatures up to 125°C, Soft-Shield 3700 is a fabric-over-foam (FOF) material that employs a conductive fabric wrapped around a soft, cellular silicone foam.
Available in a choice of square and rectangular profiles, the material is intended as a replacement for traditional spring-finger-type products in assemblies where enclosures are assembled without mechanical fixings that exert high forces or where a wide range of tolerances exist. The gasket offers a shielding effectiveness greater than 100 dB and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
