The MB88R157 from Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited (FML) is an addition to its existing line of spread-spectrum clock generators used to counteract EMI on high-frequency clock signals. This device includes an embedded FRAM (ferroelectric random access memory), which features fast rewriting speed and can vary its frequency output over a range of 1 MHz to 134 MHz while mounted on circuit board. The MB88R157’s power consumption is as much as 40 percent lower than many comparable devices. Because of the ease with which parameters can be rewritten, the MB88R157 lends itself to many applications including mobile phones, DVD players, multi-functional printers, PCs, and game consoles.
