A Canadian company will soon demonstrate an electromagnetic pulse cannon that is capable of stopping a car at a distance of 656 feet (200 meters). Flight International uncovered the story while following up on a recent U.S. Air Force request for an aircraft weapon capable of “disabling moving ground vehicles while minimizing harm to occupants.” Eureka Aerospace, which is being funded by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, will demonstrate an improved version of its car stopper next month for the Marines.Get more information from Popular Science.
