EMC solutions provider Laird Technologies has announced the release of its new Fingerstock product, the Edge Guide Clip-On Strip.
Available in custom lengths, the new product is designed to help reduce installation and labor costs in applications where PCBs need to be grounded and/or shielded. For example, says the company, a 10 cm or eight finger strip could reduce installation time by up to 80 percent using the Edge Guide Clip-on Strip, as opposed to performing a typical installation with eight traditional single clips. Made from beryllium copper (BeCu), the strip is RoHS compliant and available with various plating options, including tin or nickel. The unique snap-in feature of the contact fingers prevents any potential snagging, allowing for bi-directional sliding contact along the edges.
“The new design of the Edge Guide Clip-on Strip offers customers flexibility in the design phase due to customizable length options,” Manuel Klesinski, product manager for Laird Technologies, said. “This new product is based on one of our most popular PCB edge guide contact clips that was previously only available in single parts. We were able to address customer requests and develop a strip version that offers benefits over the commonly supplied single parts.”
