Custom MMIC, a developer of performance-driven monolithic microwave integrated circuits, has released the CMD173, a wideband GaAs MMIC distributed amplifier die for applications from DC to 20 GHz. According to the company, the CMD173 is ideal for microwave radio and VSAT, military and space applications, telecom infrastructure and test instrumentation.
The CMD173 incorporates an all-positive bias design that “eliminates complicated and costly sequencing circuits while also simplifying board layout.”
The device delivers greater than 15 dB of gain with a corresponding output 1 dB compression point of +18 dBm, and a noise figure of 1.5 dB at 8 GHz. The CMD173 offers full passivation for increased reliability and moisture protection and requires off-chip bias networks.
