Radio Equipment Directive. The recent publication of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) brings fundamental changes to the approval of devices for the European Union. This directive replaces the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) Directive. The RED has been redrafted to align with the requirements of the New Legislative Framework (NLF). Recent guidance explains the obligations of all economic operators in the supply chain, including manufacturers, test labs, Notified Bodies and other stakeholders.
