Semiconductor company Nuvoton Technology has released the NAU82039, a high-efficiency mono, analog-input 3.2W Class-D power amplifier with 12 dB of fixed gain for mobile consumer electronics including smart phones, tablet PCs, portable audio and video players, GPS system and docking stations.
According to Jae-Hong Oh, senior product marketing manager at Nuvoton Technology, “lowering both power and noise are essential in the fast-moving, highly competitive market for consumer and portable devices.
“[The NAU82039 is] designed to address the market’s need for power consumption and reduced switching noise, while delivering an array of other experience-enriching features,” Oh said.
According to the company, the NAU82039 amplifier does not require an external output filter, as each device “reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) through spread-spectrum-oscillator technology and slew-rate control.”
The NAU82039 features low quiescent current (1.25mA at 3.6V) and PSRR of > 90dB at 217Hz. The Class D amplifier is capable of driving a 4 ohms load with up to 3.2W output power.
