Canadian Spectrum Auction Could End Soon

As this edition of the eNews was being prepared for delivery, the auction of open spectrum by Industry Canada had completed round 85 and had amassed bids in excess of C$3.8 billion. Most telecom industry analysts expected the bidding to conclude within a few days to a week. Among the top bidders were Rogers Communications with bids over C$803; TELUS Communications with bids over C$797 million; Bell Mobility, Inc. with bids over C$651 million; and Québec, Inc. with bids over C$573 million.
