The development and use of broadband over power lines, computers and other digital computing devices has significantly increased the amount of electromagnetic interference affecting AM radio reception to the point of near uselessness in many areas were AM stations once provided adequate service to the general public. Arsenault is attempting to solve the problems of AM broadcast reception by petitioning the FCC to allow virtually every AM in the United States the option of participating in a substantial across-the-board daytime power increase.
