NuWaves Engineering, supplier of RF and embedded systems products, has released the NuPower XTender Bidrectional L-&S-Band Power Amplifier for use in small platforms, such as Group 2 and Group 3 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV).
According to the company, the new amplifier provides a “minimum of 10 Watts peak RF output power and 40 dB of gain with 30 percent average power efficiency from 1000 MHz to 2500 MHz” and features automatic transmit sensing circuitry for “instantaneous switching between receive and transmit modes.”
“NuWaves’ new high-efficiency bidirectional power amplifier module can not only improve the range, but also the link robustness of L- and S-band communication systems,” Jeff Wells, president and CEO of NuWaves Engineering, said. “The Xtender can be a critical enabler to achieving mission success in a variety of communications and telemetry applications.”
