The Verge reports astronaut, Scott Kelly, has been on the International Space Station (ISS) for 300 days now and is about ready to return home in March this year. He’s participating in an experiment to help NASA engineers design and support longer missions… to Mars, for example. At the end of his 342 day experiment, Kelly will have spent the longest consecutive time in space of any U.S. astronaut.
He’s using his new RED Epic 4K video camera, sent up last year, to film various scenes around the ISS. Today, he videoed himself playing “ping pong” with a large water drop. The two paddles used were laser-etched and teflon-coated to resist water. Besides ping pong, he’s roamed the ISS hallways in a spooky mask, eaten “space lettuce,” and even grown flowers.
