Scientists from the TU Darmstadt’s Institute for Microwave Technology and Photonics in Germany have developed a resonance tunnel diode (RTD) allegedly capable of generating “the highest frequency ever attained by a microelectronic device.”
The device measures less than a square millimeter and scientists theorize that it may be produced using conventional semiconductor-device fabrication technologies.
