The Lord Kelvin Award from the International Electrochemical Commission was awarded to Richard Schomberg for his work in the field of electrotechnology. It was presented by IEC President, Dr. Klaus Wucherer, during a special dinner in Melbourne, Australia.
Schomberg has been influential in expanding IEC’s Smart Grid capabilities. In 2009, “he brought together world-leading Smart Grid experts into SMB SG3 on Smart Grid” and their work “resulted in a framework and roadmap that have since served as the blueprint for most of the Smart Grid roadmaps that are currently in use around the world.”
