In a recent column in a San Francisco Bay Area newspaper, a commuter commented that on several occasions, as he passed by a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, his car lost power. “I push on the accelerator but the car doesn’t respond, quite a nerve-racking experience in the middle of evening rush hour,” the commuter said. “Since this hasn’t happened to me anywhere else at any other time, I’m wondering if BART’s electrical current could be at fault.” The answer given by the columnist after questioning a local college instructor was that “it’s indeed possible that a magnetic field or radio frequency interference affected your car’s computer and caused the car to stall.”Read the entire story in the Contra Costa Times.EDITOR’S NOTE: EMC engineers, we want your expertise.
