Despite the catchy name bestowed by the popular press, this particular day doesn’t seem likely to be widely celebrated. British telecom regulator Ofcom is removing the license restrictions on intra-home video links. Specifically, 57 to 66 GHz has been declared license free as of Friday, July 17. This frequency allotment brings the UK in line with Europe and with the position on high frequency video links backed by the WirelessHD Consortium.See the actual statement on Ofcom’s website.
