The TurboCap™ MLCs (multilayer capacitors) from AVX Corporation are stackable capacitors that feature a compact footprint to conserve PCB space. These patent-pending devices offer both high capacitance values and low ESR and can handle high ripple current at high frequencies and power levels. TurboCaps are well suited for use in filters in the input and output stages of DC/DC converters and switch mode power supplies. This capacitor is available in two styles, the ST12 and ST20. The TurboCap has a maximum voltage rating of 100 V, features an X7R dielectric formulation, and has a temperature coefficient of -55 degrees C to + 125 degrees C. Look for additional product information on the AVX website. Keep up with the latest in filter design. Post your observation or query at the Interference Technology Filters Forum.
