Well known electronics manufacturer Vishay Intertechnology has announced that Vishay Semiconductor Italiana S.p.A., a high-power products division of the company, has been chosen as one of the eight initial corporate participants in the Turin Institute’s new Business Research Center. Located in the Institute’s expanded campus area known as the Polytechnic Citadel, the new Business Research Center is the first of its kind on an Italian campus. With roughly 4000 square meters available, only a limited number of businesses have been given space in the center. Out of 89 business applicants, only eight were chosen including Vishay. In addition to serving as a premier center for the exchange of academic and industrial knowledge, participants project that the Polytechnic Citadel will create some 1,300 jobs for young researchers.
