National Technical Systems Inc. (NTS) has announced that it has been approved by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) as an Independent Test Lab (ITL) to perform testing for products based on the Wireless USB 1.0 Specification. Wireless USB combines the best of wired USB with a short-range wireless communications protocol. Based on the WiMedia Alliance’s Ultra-Wideband (UWB) common radio platform, Wireless USB is backwards compatible with wired USB, supporting up to 127 devices with a bandwidth of up to 480 Mb/s at three meters and 100Mb/s at 10 meters. NTS performs testing of Wireless USB products using the same test procedures which have been tested and refined at numerous USB “plugfests” over the past year.
