CTS Electronic Components, Inc. introduces a new surface-mount RF Bandpass Filter for use in Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) such as V2v, V2I, V2X and 802.11p. The filters were designed for use in Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) and Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DRSC).
The CTS TCB001A Bandpass Filter is small in size and supports 2 watts of RF output power at the antenna. The filter also offers a low insertion loss of 1dB, return loss of at least 16dB, high rejection of 45dB and an operating temperature of -50 to + 150 degrees Celsius.
“Applications seeking either Power Class D of 28.8dBm (0.8W), or 2W (33dBm) at the Antenna require RF power levels which are supported by the TCB001A, but are not supportable by SAW/BAW/FBAR technology. In addition, the small size of this new CTS product is similar in size to typical packaging of SAW/BAW/FBAR,” according to the company.
“This emerging radio technology requires the performance provided by this filter in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure wireless communication systems.”
