Linear Technology Corporation has announced its new 3A µModule step-down regulator, the LTM4623. The regulator has an ultrathin profile of 1.8mm, with a small footprint of 6.25mm x 6.25mm. This regulator has an operating efficiency of 80-88 percent.
“With solder paste, the package height is less than 2mm, meeting the height restrictions of many PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express), Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AMC) for AdvancedTCA carrier cards in embedded computing systems,” according to the company.
Other features of the LTM4623 include a wide input voltage range of 4V to 20V, adjustable output voltage of 0.6V to 5.5V, dual-sided PCB, gateway controllers, ultra-dense data storage, multiphase operation, ability to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 125 degrees Celsius, and overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection. The LTM4623 is also Class B compliant.
