Saelig Company, Inc. has just introduced its new TSA Range of spectrum analyzers. These are “economical USB-stick-sized miniature RF tools with large instrument performance. The PC-connected devices can perform most of the basic tests of much more expensive bench-top spectrum analyzers.”
The analyzers “are nevertheless sufficient for rapid EMC analysis and for troubleshooting RF signals in wireless remotes, cordless phones, wireless monitors, ATE systems and radios, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiMax and other wireless applications, for field service, installation, and education. Accurate and stable in frequency, they can be used for EMC pre-compliance testing with the optional inexpensive near-field probe set TNP6Gx. This probe set includes two magnetic (H) field and two electric field probes, designed for resolving emissions problems,” the company says.
The new analyzers come in three models: TSA4G1, TSA6G1, and TSA8G1. These tools are extremely small and said to be about the “size of a pack of gum;” yet, they are powerful and can measure signals up to 8GHz. They are convenient models because of their small size and light weight of only 20 grams. Other features the analyzers include are signal processing, remote features, frequency stability, bandwidths that can be adjusted to 50 – 500 kHz, fast scan options, a low noise level of -110 dBm, an extension cable and an attenuator at 30 dB.
