Ironwood Electronics has developed a new socket- The SG-BGA-6410 – designed to function in temperature ranges from -35 to over 100 degrees Celsius without any operation loss. The socket will function in a 0.8mm pitch and 96 pin BG
A IC’s. The socket includes a swivel lid and shoulder screw to ensure quick insertion – allowing IC’s to be adjusted rapidly.
“The SG-BGA-6410 socket is designed for multiple IC sizes – 8x14mm, 7.5x13mm, 9x13mm and 9x16mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 8 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The sockets are designed to dissipate up to several watts without extra heat sinking and can handle up to 100 watts with custom heat sink. The contact resistance is typically 20 milliohms per pin. The socket connects all pins with 8 GHz bandwidth on all connections,” the company said.
