Amphenol Industrial Products Group has developed new connectors for size 8 and 12 power circuits.
Researchers say the new connector series “is a single pole, in-line connection system designed to replace splices and provide power wherever it’s needed.” These new connectors have the ability to reach higher amperages than any previously used connectors.
The idea of these new connectors being “heavy duty” simply means they were designed to be used for rocky vibrations. Because of the in-line connection and replacement of splices, the new connectors will be less costly repairs for technicians, say researchers.
The connectors can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -55° C to 125° C. New custom connectors can even withstand temperatures up to 150 °C. Researchers have stated that the connectors have an “operating voltage of 1,000 VAC and dielectric withstanding voltage of 1,500 VAC.”
