Saelig Company, Inc. is now offering Telemakus’ TEP2000-4and TEP4000-5 digital phase shifters for applications including testing of phased array antennas and other RF equipment.
These laboratory-quality phase shifters feature minimum phase range of 360 degrees (400 degrees typical) with 12-bit, 0.25 degree resolution. The TEP2000-4 operates over the bandwidth of 1 to 2 GHz, while the TEP4000-5 operates from 2 to 4 GHz. Maximum RF input for linear operation is +6dBm, but the devices can handle up to +20dBm. Typical insertion loss is only 4 to 6dB. The phase shifters contain 0.5GB of flash memory used for installation files, test data, drivers, documentation, and user defined information. These two new shifters join the already-available TEP8000-6, which spans the 4 to 8 GHz range for higher frequency applications.
When coupled with the Telemakus TEA4000-7 RF attenuator, a complete PC-controlled gain and phase control system can be created. Telemakus USB RF modules can be easily controlled with any Windows XP, 7 or 8 PC via USB with the simple included GUI. A software API is also provided so that the modules can also be built into a LabView-based test setup.
Weighing less than an ounce each, the devices can be easily transported with a laptop for RF equipment field servicing. Each unit’s graphical user interface (GUI) is resident in on-board flash memory, making them “plug-and-play” for Window’s based PCs.
