Industrial networking solutions provider Moxa has announced the AWK-5222 and AWK-6222 series industrial wireless AP/bridge/client devices for zero wireless packet loss in industrial WLAN applications.
“To reduce packet loss [due to wireless interference], many advanced wireless technologies provide dual-RF devices with mechanisms to effectively detect interference and automatically switch bands to restore communication. However, this type of redundancy has limitations and can still experience packet loss when switching between channels,” Moxa said. “Moxa’s concurrent dual-radio technology is designed to transmit duplicate packets simultaneously on two different bands (2.4 G and 5 G) [so that] when interference interrupts packet transmission on one band, concurrent transmission via the other band eliminates packet loss to ensure maximum data throughput.”
The AWK-6222 and AWK-5222 series feature a -40 to 75°C operating temperature range and are compliant with essential sections of EN 50155 and IEEE 802.11a/b/g. The AWK-6222 series is equipped with a rugged IP68-rated metal housing.
