Agilent Technologies, Inc. has announced the Aglient U8480 series of USB thermocouple power sensors. According to the company, the new U8480 series offers “the best accuracy in Agilent’s power-meter and sensor portfolio” and is the company’s first power sensor capable of measuring down to DC.
The new series of thermocouple power sensors offer test engineers “the ability to synchronize measurement capture without needing an external module” using a built-in trigger function. Engineers are also able to measure power without needing an external power meter or power supply.
“Thermocouple-based power sensors are known for providing accurate power measurements but with a trade-off of slower measurement speeds,” Ee Huei Sin, vice president of Agilent’s Basic Instruments division, said. “The U8480 Series overcomes this limitation and offers a significant improvement in measurement speed, making these sensors ideal for users who require high throughput and accuracy.”
