Tecate Group, a supplier of capacitors and supercapacitors, has announced new AC safety capacitors for X and Y class applications requiring across-the-line and line-to-ground protection. According to Tecate Group, the company is offering TYPE CMX multi-layer ceramic chip (MLLC) capacitors as well as TYPE MPX and reduced-size TYPE MPXM metallized polypropylene (OPP) radial box capacitors.
According to Tecate Group, the new safety capacitors are designed for providing surge and transient protection in network infrastructure, power management, telecom and office equipment applications and are commonly used to filter EMI in power supply applications. The safety capacitors are available in SMD and radial through hole packages and are compliant with IEC 60384-1 and UL-recognized.
