Analog integrated circuit manufacturer Linear Technology and its product group, Dust Networks, have introduced the SmartMesh LTC5800 IP mote-on-chip and the SmartMesh LTP5900 WirelessHART mote module for use with wireless sensor networks.
The SmartMesh LTC5800-IPM features a Tx current of 5.4 mA at 0dBm and a tx current of 9.7 mA at +8 dBm, an rx current at 4.5 mA and a 72-pin 10mm x 10mm QFN package. The LTC5800-IPM is capable of integrating all radio circuitry components, including an on-board power amplifier. The component is equipped with Dust Network’s Eterna technology which, according to the company, extends the battery life by several years.
The SmartMesh LTP5900-WHM module is also equipped with Dust Network’s Eterna technology and is available in two options. The LTP5901-WHM PCBA module includes an on-board chip antenna, while the LTP5902-WHM PCBA module includes an MMCX antenna connector. Both PCB modules are surface-mountable.
